The Chiniki First Nations, as part of the Stoney Nakoda Nation, have always been a people deeply connected to our land, our culture, and our heritage. Our ancestors lived in harmony with the natural world, guided by wisdom passed down through generations. The buffalo, our lifeblood, provided not only sustenance but also served as our currency, sustaining our way of life as we followed its great herds across the plains.
Today, the world has changed, but our spirit of resilience and adaptability remains as strong as ever. Just as our ancestors followed the buffalo, we now pursue new opportunities in the ever-changing landscape of economic development. The buffalo may no longer roam these lands, but there is now a new currency in our world – and just as we once tracked the buffalo, we now seek, find, and share these new opportunities wherever they arise, for the growth and prosperity of our people.
Our goals are clear: to create sustainable value, to foster economic growth, and to ensure that the benefits of our efforts are felt by all members of our community, now and for generations to come.
